Hold your phone to the signal Read the Morse

DitDash Lab listens to Morse code from a radio, a speaker or a recording and writes it out as text while it plays. Letters that could be wrong are marked, so you know exactly which ones to check.

It shows you which letters to double-check

Most decoders hand you text and leave you guessing. DitDash Lab marks only the letters that sat close to a timing line. Tap one to compare what it heard with the two letters it could be.

Try it. Type anything

Letters, digits, punctuation, prosigns like <SK>, even Korean. It runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.

Try

Or key it yourself.

Press and hold the key, or the space bar. Short is a dit, long is a dah. Pause to finish a letter.

Misread Diagnosis: why your A came out as an I

In Practice, every mark you key is measured in units. When a letter reads as a different one, you see the mark that crossed the line and the smallest change that fixes it.

Questions, answered

Support
Does it work with real radio audio, or in a noisy room?

Yes. It finds the tone and the speed on its own and copes with some background noise. Clean, steady signals read best. When a letter is uncertain, it's marked for you to check instead of being guessed silently.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. Listening, Write, Practice and Test all work offline. A connection is only needed to buy or restore Pro.

Is my microphone audio recorded or sent anywhere?

No. The microphone is on only while you're listening. Audio is decoded on your device as it arrives and is never recorded, stored or uploaded.

Can it write Korean Morse?

Yes. Type Hangul in Write and each syllable is split into jamo and sent with the Korean Morse table (SKATS). Double consonants and compound vowels are sent as their parts, so ㄲ becomes ㄱㄱ.

What does Pro unlock?

Standard and Advanced tests, unlimited decoding of audio files, longer recordings, every drill, and exports to M4A, ringtone and video. Live listening, Write, Practice and Starter tests stay free.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. Pro is a one-time purchase of $4.99, or the local equivalent in your store. There are no ads and no account. Restore it on a new device from Settings.
